The Monte Rosa SkyMarathon Europe’s highest race – has rescheduled to 19-20 June, 2021, together with the AMA VK2, programmed for the same weekend this year.

Due to the ongoing restrictions both for sports events and travel and based on the Italian/Swiss decrees, the event organisers, AMA, in agreement with the Council of Alagna, the Council of Gressoney-La-Trinité, and the Monterosa 2000 SpA cable car company, have decided to postpone the events to next year in the best interests of all concerned.

A hoped-for postponement later this year has also been definitely cancelled due to the Alpine Guides being unable to guarantee the safety of participants on the glacier in the summer months.

The second edition of the AMA VK2, a double Vertical Kilometer® which climbs to 3,200m altitude, is also cancelled and rescheduled for 2021.

The 800 athletes from 33 countries entered in the two races will be informed regarding the option of the postponement of their entries for 2021 or eventual reimbursements.

The organisers are evaluating the possibility of still holding a promotional event to be held later this year. News will be issued shortly.
