After last year’s highly successful relaunch of the Monte Rosa SkyMarathon, we are very pleased and proud to announce the sponsors and supporters for the 2019 event which will take place in Alagna Valsesia, Italy on June 22.

The event has many reasons for being special. It was the race that gave birth to skyrunning and it is Europe’s highest race, reaching the summit of Monte Rosa at 4,554m. This year, a double Vertical Kilometer® has been introduced, the AMA VK2, which climbs, exclusively uphill, to 3,260m altitude.

Our 2019 partners include those that believed in us last year together with some very welcome new ones. Here they are:

Crazy Idea, the Italian skimo apparel company, will yet again provide an exclusive garment made in Polartec® fabric to all participants in the two races.

The AMA flyer that will be distributed locally

EOLO, since 1999 broadband telecommunications specialists in Italy, will provide a fast internet service in the most crucial points on the mountain, enabling the world to share this amazing adventure – live.

Again with us, BUFF©, the original multifunctional headwear brand, will provide a unique, specially designed headband carrying the Monte Rosa SkyMarathon logo, to all race finishers.

With their passionate support, we again welcome back Cimberio an Italian company, world leader of brass components and valves for domestic and commercial systems, whose mission is based on values that extend to sport, social issues and the local mountains and mountaineers of Alagna.

Helping the participants in their extreme performance to excel in Europe’s highest race, they will be helped along the way by Kratos, Italian manufacturer of completely natural synergic sports supplements.

This year, the American company Ultimate Direction, manufacturers of the lightest hydration packs, is perfectly in line with Monte Rosa SkyMarathon’s “no plastic” campaign. Participants will find in their race packs a re-usable water cup which collapses so it can be easily carried after a stop at an aid station. “Clip, collapse, and conserve!”

Racing in mountains and on glaciers is second nature to the Monte Rosa SkyMarathon participants. Nortec will award a pair of micro crampons to the top three men’s and women’s teams for their skyrunning activities.

Our Technical Sponsor GARMIN will offer a portable satellite communicator device to the Monte Rosa SkyMarathon men’s and women’s winning teams and the winners of the AMA VK2. With the Garmin inReach Mini, receive and send messages, track and navigate where your cell phone doesn’t work.

Sony, the Japanese giant, will provide large format display screens in the start and finish area and in the registration/award ceremony hall to enable the race to be followed by onsite fans and spectators.

To celebrate the winners, a magnum of Baglione wine will be offered and, no doubt, happily accepted by the lucky recipients.

We are pleased to count again on our media and institutional partners who complete the enormous support the event has achieved: Piedmont Region, Vercelli Province, Alagna Valsesia and Gressoney Councils and Monterosa 2000 S.p.A.

With all our partners, we’re looking forward to bringing you the new AMA VK2 and the Monte Rosa SkyMarathon where, for participants and fans, the skyrunning adventure that began in the Italian Alps 26 years ago will come alive again on June 22.
